Kids Room by h2o Architecture f

The beauty of the design is that there’s no one way to use the space; the architects let the children determine how to use the different elements of the room. The bed seems to soar above the playing space, held up by bookshelf columns and a carefully angled staircase. Photo by: Stéphane Chalmeau

When I was a kid, I would ‘sneak’ around the house when I was supposed to be napping by throwing my blanket over myself, completely covering myself from head to toe, and then I would creep rather awkwardly down the hall. I believed that, as long as I was covered, I was invisible. xD I have decided that I will allow my child to believe this is true. As long as they don’t do anything really stupid or abuse this fun little ‘privilege’ too often, I’ll let them get away with it for as long as they fit under their blanket. And if they abuse it? I’ll pretend to trip over them, so that they know they’re busted - invisibility does not mean incorporeal! :D But yeah. Random thought. I just look back on the memory of creeping down the hall as a ‘blanket blob’, as my parents referred to it, very fondly.

I approve of this plan.

This is What Happens When You Give Thousands of Stickers to Thousands of Kids

This December, in a surprisingly simple yet ridiculously amazing installation for the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art, artist Yayoi Kusama constructed a large domestic environment, painting every wall, chair, table, piano, and household decoration a brilliant white, effectively serving as a giant white canvas. Over the course of two weeks, the museum’s smallest visitors were given thousands upon thousands of colored dot stickers and were invited to collaborate in the transformation of the space, turning the house into a vibrantly mottled explosion of color
